This is a good example of visual hierarchy on a website. This site is designed in a visually appealing way because the images at the top attract your attention, and your eye is then drawn to the text and links on the righthand side. The eye is led throughout the page in a systematic way. The headlines are bigger than the body text, so it is clear what is important to look at first. The site is set up in an easily accessible way.

Week Thirteen, Stefaniak

I think this website, poetryfoundation.org, is extremely successful in its use of grids and hierarchy in its web design. Each section in the navigation bar is appropriately titled in a color that contrasts the subdivisions of each title, and they're equally spaced according to the grid system. The meat of the website, the center, is also nicely designed, leading to a very effective and easy to navigate website that's perfect for newcomers and seasoned visitors alike. Along with the website's coherence and clarity in hierarchy, the colors lend themselves to a calming and serene, yet classy design. It's one of my more favored websites to visit.

Week 11-Stanislaus

Theybf.com is an example of a good designed website. The website it very organized and has numerous pictures to back up what is said. There is also a "read the rest" section for every story which includes more information, pictures and commentary from followers of the website. The pictures are always clear and explain the headline it is for very well. It is a very informative website for entertainment news.

Week Eleven - Schwartz

This website is a good example of strategic and good web design. The website is organized in a way that is easy to navigate and direct in its purpose. The most important links and essential forms of navigation around the site are highlighted, and the visuals and content are in the center of the page. It is visually appealing and grabs attention, sensible through its color scheme, and attractive to the eye. The header and deck are both creative and stimulating, and the page presents an overall flow. The information is relevant and interesting to the reader, and all the things that are most likely of most importance are emphasized.

Week Eleven - Seo

Advertisingage.com is the great example of setting good layer of website. The headings are very noticeable and the use of colors are well match with the background of the website. Additionally it is very easy to use the website because it categorized well and also it has search box on the top right corner. Although they do not have many visible images, they typefaces and colors they used make users easier to read.

Rinder - Week Eleven

I like the layout of the Web site Daily Candy. I love the color pallette and the hand drawn images of candy, beauty supplies , etc (depending on what page you're on). I think this site is a good example of usability. On the home page of the site a large red arrow directs you to the option of 'select your city.' The user however, can also browse through content for all cities by using the tabs to the right of the Web site's flag. When mousing over the different tabs, the text changes from black to the color of the pages background (pink, blue, green, etc). After clicking on a page's tab, the user can then choose to find an article by 'product,' 'city,' or 'feature.' I think the Web site is clearly understood, not to mention appealing to the eye.

Shopbop.com, a clothing website, is the ultimate example of a well-designed website. Shopbob.com is organized into countless categories and subcategories which make it easy for the audience to search. For example, if you are looking for a dress you can click on clothes and scroll down to dresses. A sidebar then appears on the left with different groupings of dresses (one-shoulder, mini) in order to narrow your search even further. The website also allows you to shop by a specific designer when you click on one from a full list of brand names. If you still cannot find what you're looking for, there is a convenient search box on the top left. Above that you can find account preferences, "My Account" and your "Cart." These are all available right when you get to the website. Shopbop.com is valued by its customers for its convenience and will continue to thrive, with their organized and structured design.

Week Eleven, Stefaniak

What's a better way to prove that a website layout is successful than visiting it the most? In searching for a good website for this post, I realized that the website I most frequently visit is the one that must have the best design; otherwise why else would I continuously return? Etsy.com, the homemade item version of Ebay, has a great web layout. Along the left-hand side is a bar with the categorical navigation, along the top are the different broad subdivisions, and in the body is an ever-changing array of items the viewer might like according to the day. The website follows a nice grid design, which can be easily seen, in addition to keeping a narrow layout that doesn't make the visitor feel as if they're reading lengthwise for days. All of these correct uses of web design allow the website to be so successful, a crucial need for websites in today's world.
