At first glance this font looks sort of cool--it's futuristic and definitely stands out from the rest of the crowd. But I don't think this is a good thing. The strange looking letters take away from what the word is saying. Instead, the reader just focuses on how interesting it looks and may become distracted. Imagine a word like EFFORT..it would have a consistent, giant line through the first three letters, which would hands down distract a reader from the word's context. I think letters like Y and M should be a little less eccentric, and stick more to its original roots. Things like this will put the reader more in their element, which would increase both comfort levels and effectiveness.

I agree with this comment. This font choice is extremely difficult to read. Also I don't understand the alphabet and numbers below the business's name. I don't see how it adds anything to the advertisement.
ReplyDeleteAlthough it looks futuristic, this font has been heavily influenced by symbology. It must be used with caution...perhaps a well spaced-out header in an article about ancient ruins?
