Week Seven - Seo

This advertisement is a great example of using silhouettes. The black color of people’s silhouettes with white background totally worked to accentuate the message. This ad was creative that the messages are written in the people’s silhouettes. It strongly the pointed out the key word “HIV” with different color of using in this ad and it totally focuses their main point. Additionally, it seems all other people are belonged and stick together whereas the only guy with the color of red is little bit of far apart. This ad totally grabbed my attention and it worked really well for me to understand the message of this ad.

Week Seven- Rinder

These are part of a series of iPod ads with different colored backgrounds and silhouettes. They are great examples of use of color. The bold colored background gives a strong energy to the ad.
The colors in each ad are very vivid, trendy, and modern. The ad is extremely simple otherwise, with just a black silhouette and the white iPod and headphones.

I think these ads are awesome examples of well used color

Week Six, Stefaniak

In this image, the Gestalt principle of continuity through color is successfully represented. Once you see the image of the cat in the background and the vivid blues and purples on its tongue, that contrast with its white fur, your eyes are immediately pointed downwards following the direction of the tongue to the snow-cone. The colors in the tongue, blue and purple, are mirrored onto the snow-cone, presenting the viewer with continuity between the two objects in the picture. The continuity works so well that it isn't until looking at the picture further do you wonder why a cat is licking a snow-cone in the first place. The Gestalt principle of continuity had allowed color to link the opposed images together in a fun way.

Week Seven | LaSorsa

Target is a company who has a very distinct color and logo. The red and white bull's eye is fully recognized by shoppers. This specific ad uses Gestalt's Principle of similarity, specifically color. Red is the signature color of Target, so they obviously love to use red in their advertisements. The background adds texture by using different size boxes. The grey and red contrast to make a pattern but because grey is such a neutral color, the red continues to stand out. The white space creates people in motion but still allow the red color to come through as objects the students are using. These white figures not only explain the nature of the ad but show the use of target products by these people. The text and logo are again in red on a neutral beige background. The use of all of this red color organizes the ad and makes it consistent. The red color in contrast with only neutral color keep drawing the viewers eye back to the red and therefore, back to the brand. Target does a great job using color to get their brand name across.
