Week Ten | Palladino
When I thought of the grid system, I immediately began to think of pop art. Andy Warhol also came to mind since he popularized much of pop art and its style, creating a factory to mass produce his work. Warhol and other pop artists use the grid system frequently in their designs, and I think it works well in this picture to create structure and flow. There's a certain graphic element about having the white line separating the different color ducks which both divides the picture and creates a whole, unified picture as well. If the while dividers weren't there, the picture would look messy and almost incoherent. Sometimes separation is the key to keeping artwork and graphics organized and unified.

I love that you used pop art as an example of a grid. Even though pop art is so modern and unique, artists still use a grid for organization. I think that says a lot about how important grids are.
